btw israel and iran is not in the traditional sense
of the term defeat, for there was no land to conquer or ppl
to be subjugated or controlled etc.
the Real purpose of israel attacking iran ("soon") is 2 fold:
a. to make sure that iran has little or no chance of producing
nuclear bombs that can be used to attack israel.
by delaying it, it is quite possible that there might be changes
in iran, either in gov etc that can change the mindset of the country
Not to produce them.
b. that even if, say, 5-10 yrs down the road iran still can manage
to make the nuclear bombs, that it will NEVER be able to use it, for
it knows israel/usa will turn iran into stone age! -- iran actualy
knew this already today, but some islamists waitng for Imam Mahdi
would still do it,, but having seen the consequences in advance, it
would prevent a future attack on israel.
the Defeat of iran means that: the war will be ended on israel's
or (israel+usa)'s terms!

now, as to the ppl of iran would later unite and get madder at israel,
that would become irrelevant. histroy shows that ppl soon forget them
quickly: ppl of serbia got mad at nato [for attacking serbia in late 1990s], but now they want to join eu
(which is essentially comprised of major nato countries).

the obama "doctrine" assumes that obama prefers option B: that is
allow iran to have the nuke, but under the threat of extinction to
stone age! but israel needs stronger assurance than that, hence
it will execute the above 2 reasons.
