The author is more in love with the sound of his own voice than anything else. Somewhere along that abortion of an article (probably after the first sentence), the author goes from penning a comparison of China and the US to some bombastic, smug, self-congratulatory non-sensical piece of crap that the author no doubt assumes is an analytical and poetic masterpiece.
