You are talking about Jianghus when the PLAN are cranking out huge numbers of modern FFGs and DDGs. Also, any future Naval conflict will take place in the confines of the East and South China seas, which will make Japan's DDGs just as vulnerable from Submarine and land based attacks. As for the the army, China obviously has a bigger edge
I called you bollocks that Japan has more influence and power. It has no permanent seat in the UN and it has no where the political clout that China has. China is more than just Lenovo and Haier, it has industry leaders like Huawei and ZTE, and ohers. Sony, Sharp and all these electronics pioneers are now passe. China also has some powerful "internet" companies like Baidu, Sina, Weibo, Alibaba, which Japan does not have equivalents. It is also a matter of time before Chinese brands catch up. Korea had no brands in the 80s, but today Samsung trumps Sony and Mitsubishi is now importing Hyundai engines, a role reversed.
In fact, Japan has less influence than the UK, France and Germany.
