But I tell you the shattering of a preconcieved notion does not constitute some sort of defeat. Go into any of the larger, busier restaurants in SF Chinatown over a period of time, sometimes with a white friend and sometimes alone or with other Chinese, and you tell me how fast you get seated. BTW, if you go for dim sum 90% of the time the cart pushers won't even attempt to offer you feng zhua if you're with Americans!
