It seems that the new 3000 ton Chinese Coast Guard ship is unarmed. What happens if she runs into one of the following situations?

1. Armed pirate ships inside China's EEZ.
2. Large groups of foreign ships inside China's water illegally.
3. Armed foreign vessels violating China's territorial waters.

When all the countries around China, including South Korea, are encroaching on China's maritime sovereignty, why does China take such a low profile in patrolling her territorial waters? It is totally incomprehensible.
