They went abroad to all the European nations and the usa to learn about all of the white institution and emulated them. They then tried the colonialism like the whites but learned painfully just prior to ww2 that they were still Asian and would never be accepted by whitey no matter how pale their skin was or western their institutions were.They didn't really learn. Maybe Hu could work with them and let them know that being Asian is OK.
