is a 4th gen fighter jet. With some avionic upgrades, it could become a 4.5th generation jet like the Rafale, Typhoon, SuperHornet and SuperFlanker.
The J-10 is mostly comparable with the Mirage-2000-5, later F-16C/D, and JAS-39A.

Full-scale Engineering Mock-up of Chinese J-14 Stealth aircraft unveiled. Since the China PLA has released info on J-10A Fighter, it could be interpreted that the J-14 Stealth Aircraft program has made some significant progress.

or just another great CGI. But my theory was, that it could be a CAC concept that they want to display how the J-14 might look like. I also must remind you, that the J-14 is not the J-XX. The J-XX by Shenyang is supposed to have the traditional wing formation like Lockheed Martin's Raptor.
But since the J-10A/B are not handled as classified military gear anymore, I think it is true that the progress of the Stealth Fighter projects of China are advancing to another level.

some who might have missed it. Also in his last diagram, he is trying to illustratively show the weapon (missiles) system is hidden under the skin during flight just like the latest F22 raptor or JSF F35.

To me the images seem to indicate it looks mostly like the YF-23 that the USAF rejected, but was probably a better aircraft than the YF-22 that actually won. Especially the back section of the plane looks almost identical to the YF-23. I wonder if the images are real beacuse the progress on the j-10 had been very disapointing to me.

several reasons like higher costs, no weapon systems integrated and harder to upgrade in terms of its weapons bay.
Another big factor was, that the USAF feeled more secure choosing Lockheed, because they had successfully developped the F-117A stealth fighter (IMO a stealth attacker) before.
It was said that the YF-23 had even better stealth capability than the YF-22. Unlike the YF-17 which became the F/A-18, the YF-23 rests in peace as a prototype plane.

Some suggest the YF-23 is used as a stealthy high speed recon platform

Aside from better stealth characteristics than the Raptor it was faster at Mach 2.8. Some out there suggest it has been turned into a recce platform to partially fill the Blackbird's big shoes.

The pilot is always the first person at the scene of the crash.

Wow, 2.8 almost 3 Mach plus if w/ supercruise just perfect for recon role.

Maybe there are some other factors unknown to us, keeping it from becoming such platform.
